Barrie ShepleyTriathlon Coach
Personal Best President and co-founder Barrie Shepley has been Canada’s National Triathlon Team coach since 1991 (the year that the company was formed). In that time Barrie has coached over 500 people to national championship titles, Pan American Games medals, World Championship medals as well as successful completion of the Hawaii Ironman and the Boston Marathon. Barrie was selected to go to the 2000 Sydney Olympics where Triathlon made its debut as a full medal sport. Canada won the gold medal in the men's event, a performance no one will ever forget.
Sean BetchelElite Triathlete
Sean grew up in Caledon and started his athletic career as a swimmer at the age of eight. Following Simon Whitfield's Gold Medal victory at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Sean was inspired to take up triathlon. Sean has been racing as a professional triathlete for 9 years, including during his degree studies at McMaster University. This is Sean's second year following graduation from McMaster and he feels that he is just starting to put things together and is expecting big things this year.
