COVID-19 Announcements

  We're thrilled to announce that as of Friday June 11, 2021 we will once again be open to the public. Due to public health restrictions, we are operating at a significantly reduced capacity, so please bear with us if a short wait is required when you arrive. We'll do our best to ensure things are moving quickly and smoothly. Please check store hours in Markham, or find out more about Curbside Pick-Up if you would still prefer not to come in the store.

  Another lockdown is upon us. All non-essential retail has been ordered closed to in-person shopping for at least 30 days starting Thursday April 8th, 2021. We will do our part by temporarily closing our doors to customers during this Ontario-wide stay-at-home order. We're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and genuinely hoping this lockdown is the last one necessary. We will re-open at the earliest possible time when it's been deemed okay to do so.

In the meantime, please continue your shopping online and make use of our Curbside Pick-Up and Return Drop-Off options. This reduces the load on shipping systems and carriers and eliminates the possibility of delays or problems. Check available pick-up hours at Running Free Markham. Read more about Curbside Pick-Up

  Great news! Our Orangeville and Markham stores are opening again!
As of Monday February 22nd, 2021, both areas will no longer be under the stay-at-home order, and will be allowed to re-open under the Red-Control framework. Under the current restrictions, we must limit the number of people in the store which may result in the need to wait outside until space becomes avaiable. We appreciate your patience if a short wait is necessary when you visit.

Both stores are operating on a modified schedule. Please check store hours before visiting. Find out more about the changes and protocols in place to ensure everyone's safety.

  As of December 26th, all non-essential businesses in Ontario have been ordered closed and our Orangeville store will now join our Markham location and thousands of non-essential business across Ontario in temporarily closing our doors to customers until at least Saturday January 23rd. We're all sincerely hoping this lockdown is effective at getting the spread of COVID-19 under control, and that we can re-open safely after the it has finished.

Until then we would like to wish you a very safe and happy holiday from all of us at Running Free. We're looking forward to welcoming a better year in January and we hope we'll see you then!

  During this second lockdown in York Region (starting December 14th), our Markham store will be physcially closed to customers until at least January 11th. Our Orangeville store is currently still open. Dufferin county is observing Code Red conditions but a full lockdown has not yet been imposed). There are limits on capacity so you may be asked to wait outside depending on how many people are in the store. We're all sincerely hoping this lockdown is effective at getting the spread of COVID-19 under control, and that we can re-open safely after the it has finished.

  We've moved to the next phase of our COVID re-opening plan and both our Markham and Orangeville stores are now open to the public. We are still proceeding cautiously in order to ensure everyone's safety so some services are reduced. Wait times are possible depending on volume. Due to the ongoing transmission of COVID-19 in our community, we've decided that our stores will remain closed for the time being. Although some businesses will be allowed to re-open on May 19th, we have chosen to take things a little slower. Re-opening is a complex process and more consideration and preparation is needed to ensure we have planned for all factors and can provide a safe environment for our staff and our customers. Please stay tuned for further information. We will announce the next phase of our re-opening plans here in the near future. Thank you very much for your understanding and patience while we navigate this unprecedented situation. 

Online and phone orders will continue, and Curbside Pick-up and Return Drop-Off, as well as shipping to your home is always available.

The Ontario government has indicated that we may offer a contactless Curbside pick-up option for customers wishing to pick up their online orders at our Markham and Orangeville stores. Our stores will remain closed but Curbside Pick-up can be selected during checkout and we will contact you via email with further instructions when your order is ready to be pickup. You may also drop-off returns via this same method to avoid possible returns charges, shipping delays, and visiting a post office. Find out more here.

Our online customer service hours have changed. Staff will be on hand to answer your emails and questions between 10am and 2pm Monday to Saturday. Customer service will be closed on Sundays. Check our contact page for more info and ways of reaching us here.

The province of Ontario has announced a list of businesses that can remain open during this public health crisis. This list includes a provision to allow online commerce to be permitted while confirming our physical stores must remain closed. We'll continue to follow these guidelines and do our part to bring about the end of this crisis. Stay tuned for further updates.

To our valued Running Free customers

The COVID-19 situation is evolving at an unprecedented rate. Some retailers are staying open as normal, others restricting hours, and others closing altogether. The recent uptick of community transmission in Canada has signaled to us that the most responsible action is to close our physical stores for the time being.

As of Tuesday, March 17th, both Running Free Markham and Running Free Orangeville will close until further notice. For the safety of our staff, customers, and community, we will reopen when it is appropriate.

Our 40th Anniversary

2020 marks the 40th year of operation for Running Free, and we are looking forward to serving the community for another 40 years. We are sincerely grateful for the many long lasting friendships built along the way, and our thoughts are with you and your families right now. Please stay safe and lend a hand where you can.
